Familiarity is a form of blindness, the symptom of repeated observation. When our natural mode of perception is to view, daily repetition gives us permission to stop looking. Then some existential swerve happens and the familiar reappears unfamiliar. My work acts an intermediary between form and context, familiarity and recognition.
